FAQs
-
Unfortunately, no. Due to capacity and the level of personalized attention we provide, we can only accept 6–10 trainees per cohort. Selection is based on a variety of factors and changes with each cycle.
-
No. While many of our trainees go on to become instructors with us, we do not guarantee employment. That said, our track record of trainees becoming hired instructors is very strong.
-
You’ll earn a certificate in the Slow Resistance Method, a high-intensity Pilates approach developed by Piper Michelle Yi. This method emphasizes strength and endurance through slow, controlled movements. Instead of counting reps, we focus on time under tension—maximizing muscle engagement and eliminating momentum. Every movement is powered solely by your muscles for optimal activation and control.
-
We’re a community-driven studio, and we’ve found our most successful instructors started as dedicated clients. A passion for the method, strong interpersonal skills, and a beginner’s mindset are key traits we look for in trainees.
-
Not at all. While a fitness background can be helpful, it’s not required.
-
Attendance at our weekend intensive with Piper Yi is mandatory for all trainees. If you’re unavailable, we recommend applying for a future cohort.
-
It depends. We evaluate these situations on a case-by-case basis. You may be asked to complete the full training or audit certain modules to ensure you're equipped with the unique skills and philosophy of Slow Resistance Training.
-
The mentorship timeline varies for each trainee based on their background and availability. Some with prior fitness experience complete the process in a few weeks, while others take a year or more. We support every pace, there’s no rush, and we’re here for the journey.
-
This also depends on the individual. Some take to coaching quickly, while others need more practice. What matters most is a willingness to receive feedback, stay open-minded, and be patient with yourself. Learning a new skill takes time, and that’s perfectly okay!
-
Yes. We understand that training is a significant financial commitment. After your non-refundable deposit, the remaining tuition can be split into four monthly payments.
